University of Texas. He is specializing in the clinical treatment of developmental
stuttering, as well as conducting research investigating the contribution of linguistic
and phonological factors during the onset of childhood stuttering.
Geoff has experience with preschool and school-aged children with a cross-section
of diagnosis, including speech and language delays, Autism Spectrum Disorders (Autism,
Asperger’s Syndrome, Pervasive Developmental Disorder), as well as his specialty,
fluency disorders.
Geoff Coalson, M.S., CCC-SLP
Geoff grew up in Tomball, Texas, northwest of Houston. From 2000 to 2005 he lived
in Austin, where he earned two Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Texas -
a B.S. Communication Sciences and Disorders and B.A. in Psychology. While earning
his Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Vanderbilt University in Nashville,
TN, he participated in research focusing on emotional regulation in children who
stutter. After completing his clinical fellowship in Houston at a private school
for children with language and learning difficulties, he is back in Austin, pursuing
his Ph.D. at the University
